Because God is good..
Posted By John Waller June 25, 2009
~I recently had the opportunity to go to Focus on the Family and do music for their staff devotional.  It was an incredible honor! The man that spoke is the well known author of the book "Man in the Mirror", Patrick Morely.  We were in the "green room", which of course was not in any way green.  We were chit chatting on the couch, when all of the sudden he makes this statement..."Because God is good, my life hasn't turned out the way I planned".  It was one of the those moments where I was blown away.  I said, "you just summed up my whole life in that one statement".  My life has definitely NOT turned out the way I planned.  Who knows where I'd be today if it had.  Maybe I wouldn't even be here had He allowed me to have it my way.  He loves you and I way too much to leave us to our "best laid plans".  Needless to say...I wrote a song based on that quote.  It was too good not to!  What do you guys think??

Blessings,

John

Thank you for praying!
Posted By John Waller May 29, 2009
~ I wanted to thank each of you who responded to my request for prayer in my previous journal entry titled "we covet your prayers" for me, my family, and this ministry!  Just in the last 3 weeks we've seen tremendous break-through! We've had 8 stations add "While I'm waiting" to their playlist and we've gotten an abundance of opportunities for ministry.  Please continue to pray.  I have found that this is the time that people need more than ever to be encouraged, blessed and delivered from the clutches of the enemy.  That is my calling with my music and with your prayer support, we will see thousands, even millions touched.  Thank you again for your partnership and I promise to give you regular updates.  Praise God!!

"The Word stands"
Posted By John Waller May 15, 2009
~I had lunch today with my dad at his favorite restaurant, "Taqueria Del Sol" in Atlanta.  Definitely the best fish tacos I've ever had! My dad and I always have interesting conversations about the condition of this country, the government and where it appears things are headed. Ofcourse he always turns on talk radio and I get a dose of Rush Limbaugh and it always leaves me feeling heavy. All you really have to do is turn on FOX, CNN or talk radio and you'll feel heavy and burdened real quick.

Here's some encouragement the Lord gave me this week..

No matter what circumstance you find yourself in...MY WORD STANDS!

No matter what government says, does, or doesn't do...MY WORD STANDS!

No matter what the "talking heads" say on the TV...MY WORD STANDS!

Kingdoms of men, rulers and politicians rise and fall but...MY WORD STANDS!

Check these verses out in Psalm 2:

1 Why do the nations conspire

and the peoples plot in vain?

2 The kings of the earth take their stand
       and the rulers gather together
       against the LORD
       and against his Anointed One.

3 "Let us break their chains" they say,
       "and throw off their fetters."

 4 The One enthroned in heaven laughs;
       the Lord scoffs at them.

5 Then he rebukes them in his anger
and terrifies them in his wrath, saying,

6 "I have installed my King
       on Zion, my holy hill."

Maybe we should join Him and laugh! So many are violently opposed to God and His Word and believe they can thwart His plan.  THAT is truly LAUGHABLE!! So do not be intimidated by what's going "down" in the world today.  If God is for us, who can be against us??  What can mere man do to us, the children of God?

When it all comes down, and IT WILL, I will not be shaken or moved because I am standing on His Word, Jesus...and THE WORD STANDS!!

~John

(By the way, it is a song now!)

The Dean's List
May 11, 2009
Greetings!  My name is Dean Diehl and I am John's manager.  Well, it probably would be more accurate to say I am John's friend, who happens to help manage his career as well.

I have had a unique, front-row view of John's life over the last couple of years and have come to know him to be a true man of God, a loving husband, a caring father, a good friend and an exceptional artist.  So, I thought I would jump in on this journal every once in a while and give you "the rest of the story".

For this first post I wanted to take you behind the scenes to a moment last year when John and I were both a little down.  John had been working really hard spending a lot of time on the road and it seemed there wasn't a lot to show for it.  It is so hard not to let yourself measure success by the world's standards...and by the world's standards, things weren't all that great.

One night John called me from the road and we had a long talk.  I was going through some tough decisions as well and we both shared how hard it is sometimes to really know that you are obeying God.  It was a tough time.

The next day John called me all excited.  He started out by telling me how he had been praying for God to give him some sign that he was on right path.  As he was finishing his prayer, his phone rang.  It was Alex Kendrick, writer and director of the movie "Facing the Giants", calling to tell John that he had heard the song "While I'm Waiting" and wanted to use it in his new movie, "Fireproof".

So many people have come to know who John is because of the role "While I'm Waiting" played in that movie.  It has truly been a blessing and we are so grateful for Sherwood Baptist Church, the Kendrick brothers and everyone else involved.

But, for John and me, the real blessing of that song and that movie is in remembering how God used Alex Kendrick to answer John's prayer.  Alex's call and encouragement to John was just what we both needed at the time.

It always amazes me how God not only calls us, but encourages us, guides us, pulls us along, especially when we need him most.  He gives us just what we need, right when we need it.
